No street shoes are allowed on the dance floors. Depending on dance/fitness styles, the students may be dancing with bare feet or exercising on the floor. For example, yoga, sit-ups and some warm-ups are done on the floor. To help keep the dance floors clean, we kindly ask that you bring your dance/fitness shoes into class. This is especially important during the rainy season. Your cooperation is much appreciated.
This dance class has less to do with exotic dancing and more to do with self-confidence, self-expression, joy, being a woman and real personal power. The class will incorporate jazz, hip hop, sexy moves and how to dance sensually. After the first class, you may feel like a Pussycat Doll.
Jazz Dance - As popular culture changes, so does jazz dance. Crucial to jazz dance is individuality and improvisation. Jazz dances include the Charleston and the Black Bottom from the 1920s, theater dances of Bob Fosse, funky jazz and lyrical jazz.
Each class begins with yoga stretches and isolations to warm-up the body. This class incorporates the latest street style dance forms. This is a high energy upbeat style of dance as is seen in many Pop and R&B music videos.
